Let’s work together

A Coalition Member is an organization (formal or informal) that is taking action to convene and coordinate multiple youth sports, play, or physical activity organizations in a geographic region.

Eligibility as a Coalition Member requires that the organization has:

  • Ongoing meetings or convenings

  • Active participation of direct-service organizations

  • A mechanism that engages direct service members in organizational decision-making. For example, facilitated feedback sessions, leadership teams, voting systems, or advisory boards.

Coalitions for Sport Equity (CSEq) is made up of individuals representing local organizing efforts focused on youth sport, physical activity, and play in a particular city, community, or geographic area. CSEq works on a national and local level in order to improve the quality of and increase equity in youth sports. Our priorities are to:

    • Serve as a learning community for collectives / best practices / sharing etc.

    • Lift up and support organizations doing direct service programming in sports-based youth development in cities and communities in order to increase their impact on local youth.

    • Advocate for a renewed movement in sports-based youth development in order to center youth well-being, healthy development, and equity as core tenets of the entire youth sports sector.

If you aren’t sure if you’re eligible or if membership is right for you, but have interest in organizing locally, we still want you to reach out! Our learning sessions and monthly calls are open to members and non-voting attendees.
