  • A movement that has been growing organically since 2016, the Lawrence Sports Alliance was established to enhance the capacity and impact of youth-serving sports organizations in the city through an interconnected support system that provides every child with the necessary physical, emotional and social skills to succeed in life. With 15 member organizations that together reach over 3,000 youth across 7 sports, the Alliance is addressing sport and health inequities in a city where just 15% of high school students play a sport, and childhood obesity rates top 40%.

  • The Play Equity Fund secured a $15 million “Youth Development and Diversion through Sports and Play” investment from the LA County Care First Community Investment Fund to support sport-based youth development organizations over three years.

  • Project Play works collaboratively with organizations across the eight counties of Western New York to provide children opportunities for an active, healthy and fun lifestyle. Connecting and building capacity of youth sport organizations, Project Play is working to address identified gaps in access to high quality youth sport opportunities through coach training, free play, capacity building, and grantmaking. 

  • The Milwaukee Youth Sports Alliance is a citywide, collective effort to ensure that Milwaukee’s youth have access to high-quality sports programs that contribute to their overall development. Created to unite the youth sports community as a tool for social change, the Alliance brings together dozens of organizational and individual members, sharing best practices and research, and driving investment in communities.

  • In addition to co-founding the Baltimore Youth Sports Collaborative, the Southwest Sports and Fitness Alliance leads a coalition of organizations in Southwest Baltimore toward a vision of community structures that enable comprehensive athletic, sport and fitness opportunities for children, youth and adults alike. Their work focuses on advancing sport opportunities that include: safe places to play, accessible and affordable programs, training coaches, intentional curricula, ongoing evaluation processes, and a focus on the development of the whole child, not only the athlete.

  • The Collaborative serves over 80,000 youth in Philadelphia through its 70+ members. They recently secured state funding to place trained students in paid positions in schools and rec centers, addressing an acute shortage of coaches across most place spaces.

  • Serving seven counties across Southeast Michigan (including Detroit), the Project Play Coalition imagines a community in which children are more active through sports, play, and recreation regardless of race, income, zip code, or ability. Spearheaded by the Aspen Institute’s Project Play in partnership with the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, the Coalition aims to build a movement toward expanded access to high-quality youth sport, play, and recreation experiences for youth ages 5-13. 

  • Sport for Good Atlanta by Laureus USA is taking a is a long-term approach to strengthening Atlanta communities through the power of sport.  Since launching in 2017, the coalition has trained over 170 coaches and awarded 30 grants that impact the lives of over 26,000 young people. With and through its network of over 30 cross-sector organizations, Sport for Good Atlanta has invested over $2 million in the Atlanta community in grants, sponsorships, trainings, and events.

  • Convened by the Positive Coaching Alliance, the Oakland Sports Equity Coalition aims to eliminate sports equity gaps by collaboratively shaping an equitable youth sports ecosystem that supports, recognizes, and celebrates every community, regardless of zip code, identity, or life experience. A signature achievement of the Coalition is the creation of 4,000 new youth sport opportunities for elementary school youth across the Oakland Unified School District.

  • Following the release of the Project Play “State of Play” report for Baltimore, the Collaborative was formed to coordinate efforts to increase participation in and drive investment to sport-based youth development organizations across the city. With 18 members, the collaborative is led by the Youth Sports Collaborative Network and the Southwest Sports and Fitness Alliance and continues to expand its advocacy and coordination efforts with a focus on middle grades within Baltimore City Schools.

  • With a vision for a healthier, more collaborative, and vibrant New Orleans where youth have endless opportunities to participate and lead in sport, Sport for Good New Orleans because the first Laureus USA Sport for Good city in 2014. Building a cross-sector coalition of over 20 diverse partners dedicated to improving the lives of youth and community through the power of sport, the initiative has impacted the lives of over 80,000 young people through grants to sports-based youth development organizations and engaged over 200 leaders across the city in its efforts.

  • Led by Laureus USA, the Coalition has secured $13 million in Illinois State funding over the last 3 years to invest in sport-based youth development programming and training, supporting over 25,000 youth and over 5,000 coaches across Chicago.

By prioritizing self and building individual character, individuals can develop a solid foundation to lead others.  With over twenty years of robust researched based curriculum, Strive builds leaders who are prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

  • In partnership with Nike, Sport for Good New York City was launched by Laureus USA in 2018 to improve the lives of under-served youth in New York City’s five boroughs through the power of sport.  A coalition with 62 organizations representing 31 different sports and serving over 177,000 young people across the city, Sport for Good NYC has provided over $4.5 million in grants, trained over 600 local coaches, and distributed over 150 grants to local sport-based youth development organizations.
